Deliver in-person academic support across high school level humanities and STEM subjects

Coordinate closely with caregivers and a wider team of educators to keep students on track

Ideal Candidate
Holds a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in education, finance, entrepreneurship, humanities, social sciences, or a related field
Demonstrated success teaching or mentoring adolescents
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
Calm, emotionally intelligent, and highly adaptable
Comfortable creating curricula and guiding youth programs
Genuine interest in business, finance, entrepreneurship, and mental-health-informed practices
Proficient in Spanish
Authorized to work in the U.S. and able to relocate to Puerto Rico for the residency period

The Director of Education will lead a small, mission-driven team supporting a unique cohort of students and families across Puerto Rico and beyond. The role blends strategic thinking with day-to-day team oversight and offers the chance to shape an emerging model for educational mentorship and executive functioning support.

You’ll be based in San Juan and collaborate closely with a virtual network of tutors, families, and nonprofit partners. The Director of Education will be expected to relocate to Puerto Rico and commit for at least one academic year. Key Responsibilities:
Tutor Team Oversight & Professional Development
Lead tutor recruitment and conduct first-round interviews
Provide ongoing professional development and coaching for tutors
Create and maintain tutor training materials and internal best practices
Offer 1:1 feedback and support to tutors, including relaying parent input
Track team progress and ensure timely delivery of educational services
Support Puerto Rico-based tutors with language or logistical needs
Educational Design & Program Execution
Design educational resources tailored to diverse learning profiles
Allocate tutor teams to student needs and oversee the quality of deliverables
Draft and send feedback emails and make check-in calls to parents
Serve as the primary point of contact for client communications and academic updates
Help troubleshoot and solve urgent challenges in real time
Nonprofit Leadership & Community Engagement
Oversee the design and execution of nonprofit educational initiatives
Represent Oxford Tutors at community, school, and nonprofit events
Build and maintain relationships with nonprofit partners and stakeholders
Support outreach and tracking of grant-funded or subsidized programming
Cross-Team Collaboration & Marketing Liaison
Collaborate with the leadership and operations teams to ensure strategic alignment
Liaise with the marketing team to ensure educational messaging is consistent and aligned with public-facing materials
Contribute content ideas for newsletters, campaigns, and educational communications
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier college or university

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Scheduling
Hold weekly 1:1 meetings with tutors to track goals, share updates, and provide support (alongside the founder)
Allocate tutors to students and projects in collaboration with leadership
Maintain daily communication with team members to ensure alignment and clarity
Track team deliverables and project milestones on a weekly basis
Oversee the successful execution of education programs and client deliverables
Respond swiftly to urgent needs and “put out fires” as they arise
Project & Operations Management
Manage scheduling logistics for tutors and clients

Key Responsibilities:
Offboard tutors and oversee tutor onboarding logistics
Track revenue and expenses monthly
Monitor unpaid invoices, send reminders, and make collection calls/emails

Process monthly payments (rent, bills, credit cards)
Coordinate with accountants (U.S. & Puerto Rico) and financial contacts (e.g. Chase Bank)
